Newborn photos that catch the weight of them, the milk-drunk sleep, and that startle-reflex when they fling both arms out like they're falling.

Safe, unhurried, and led entirely by your baby.

Newborn photographer in Rockhampton & Yeppoon

The drawer you excitedly packed with 0000 onesies. You’ll be packing them away before you know it.

Right now, you’re getting ready for them. Washing the tiny onesies, admiring them on the clothesline, wondering how a person could ever be that small. (Then they arrive, and somehow those same clothes are too big).

You’re staring at the nursery you thought of every detail for, googling ‘signs of labour’ for the hundredth time, one more episode of One Born Every Minute deep.

Then they’re here. And life speeds up and slows down all at once. Your days are full, and yet you spend most of them on the couch, feeding, settling, surviving on no sleep.

A mother looks down at her newborn child while breastfeeding. The mother has a catheter in her wrist and is lying down.

That's why I book you in before they arrive.

As a newborn photographer in Rockhampton and Yeppoon, I book you in before they come.

While you’re setting up the nursery, we’re locking in your dates. So at 2am, when you’re scribbling down questions for the child health nurse, your photos aren’t one more thing on the list. They’re handled.

You just get to relax, knowing all the details you want to keep will be captured. The onesies on the line. Their tiny toes, their umbilical stump, the top of their head you can’t stop breathing in. All of it, yours to keep.

“When I saw Alice behind the camera with my newborn, it became obvious the magic she was creating. Our gallery brought tears to my tired mum eyes, as she truly captured us.”

– Kim

Every newborn package is two sessions. You choose the pair.

Because one session is never enough to hold onto this, and because no two families arrive at it the same way.

Maternity + Newborn

A maternity session while they’re still tucked in close, then their newborn session once they’ve arrived.

Fresh 48 + In-Home

Their very first hours in hospital, then a second session at home in the first month, once you’re settled.

Book your due date

We lock in your dates while you’re still setting up the nursery – your maternity session now and your Fresh 48 or newborn session once baby has arrived.

Then you’ll start getting everything from me to help you feel prepared, relaxed and oh so ready. No guessing, no stressing.

Your session is here

Whether it’s maternity, newborn or Fresh 48, my whole aim is the same: to capture connection, joy, and a whole lot of love.

You just turn up and be with your baby. I’ll take care of the rest.

Come and see them

I’ll invite you back to the studio for your design appointment, where you’ll cry happy tears over your gallery, choose your favourites, and we’ll turn them into artwork for your home.

Your baby is in the safest possible hands.

I’m trained and re-certified every year in infant CPR, first aid and safe newborn handling, I hold a blue card, and I keep my vaccinations up-to-date. Safety isn’t an add-on for me, it’s the whole foundation of how I work.

So here’s how your session actually goes: I’ll gently settle and wrap your baby to start, then they’ll spend most of the session right where they belong, in your arms. No precarious props, no poses that put them at risk, nothing forced. Just your baby, safe, calm, and close to you.

You get to relax and soak them in. I’ll take care of everything else.

The baby book you'll actually finish.

A lot of families turn their two sessions into one fine art album: the whole story of how they began, printed and bound to last decades. A love letter to your child, in a way, one they’ll grow up flipping through, then hand to their own kids one day. Not a folder on your phone. A real book, in your hands.

Warning: happy tears ahead

“Thank you for fitting us in so we could capture our littlest babe during his first week of being earthside. You were so accommodating and informative, and you’ve given us the greatest gift…sweet memories.”

– KELLY

“Alice made both our maternity and newborn sessions flow so effortlessly, and somehow turned those busy, unpredictable moments into memories we’ll treasure forever. If you’re looking for someone who is incredibly talented, patient, and able to capture the most beautiful, genuine moments, she’s the one.

– ANNIE

Newborn questions answered

When should I schedule my newborn photoshoot?

The ideal time for a newborn session is within the first two weeks after birth, when your baby is still sleepy, curled up, and easy to settle into those sweet, womb-like positions. That said, beautiful images can be created at any stage.

I recommend booking during your pregnancy to make sure we have a spot reserved for you. It also gives you the chance to have a maternity session, which are offered complimentary when booking your newborn session at the same time.

A Fresh 48 hospital session is held in the first couple of days after birth.

What do I need to do to prepare?

Very little, that’s my job. I send you everything ahead of time, from how to settle your baby to a big feed before I arrive, so you turn up and I handle the rest.

Where should I have my newborn session?

You can choose the location that feels right for you — whether that’s at home, in a hospital, in my cosy studio, or even outdoors in a spot that’s special to your family.

Fresh 48 sessions (taken in hospital within the first day or two after birth) are a beautiful way to capture your baby at the tiniest they’ll ever be — all that newness, those tiny fingers, that fresh-from-the-womb magic.

In-home sessions tell the story of your family life just as it is — with your favourite things around you, your baby’s nursery, and the quiet intimacy of home.

The studio is perfect if you’d rather not worry about tidying up. Everything is ready here to help you feel comfortable, calm, and at ease — with beautiful natural light, soft tones, and everything we need to create timeless images.

Wherever we shoot, the focus will always be on connection — and capturing your baby’s earliest days in a way that feels true to you.

Do I need to bring anything for the newborn session?

I have everything we need — wraps, blankets and simple outfits — but you’re more than welcome to bring anything meaningful or sentimental you’d love included. This session is all about your baby and your story.

How long does a newborn photoshoot take?

Newborn sessions usually take about 2 hours. That gives us plenty of time for feeding, settling, changing, and capturing all those little details without rushing. These sessions are designed to be calm, slow, and baby-led.

Is newborn photography safe for my baby?

Yes — your baby’s safety is always my highest priority.

I’m trained in safe, gentle posing techniques specifically for newborns, and I create a calm, baby-led environment where your little one is always handled with care. I keep my infant and child first aid and CPR certification up to date, and I’m fully vaccinated against whooping cough for the health and safety of your family.

I’m also a proud member of the Professional Photography Business Network, a group committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, honesty, and integrity in the industry. Each year, I invest in ongoing education to stay up-to-date with the best practices in newborn photography, so you can feel completely at ease, knowing your baby is in safe and experienced hands.

What is a Fresh 48 newborn session?

A Fresh 48 captures your baby’s first hours in hospital, usually within the first couple of days. It’s the tiny early details and the moment siblings meet the new baby, before you’ve gone home.

How much does a newborn session cost?

Most families invest between $1,800 and $3,000 on their portraits and artwork from their TWO sessions. Every newborn package includes two sessions: either a maternity and newborn session, or a Fresh 48 in hospital plus one at home or in the studio.

Digital only packages start at $795 for the two sessions.

What if my baby arrives early or late?

Baby’s are notoriously unpredictable, so I only take on a certain number of newborn sessions per month to factor this in. Upon booking, we pencil in your baby’s due date and then you flick me a text once they’re here. All the details are already planned and no matter when your baby is born, I’ll schedule them in.

They will never be this small again.
